Recovery Rosary® holds tightly to important prayers in Alcoholics Anonymous® that were were inspired by its founders and have been adapted by many 12 step programs today.
The prayers incorporated into the Recovery Rosary® twelve step prayer beads are represented by certain beads, including the serenity prayer, the 3rd step prayer, the 7th step prayer and the 11th step prayer. These are prayers that are in the Big Book® and the Twelve by Twelve® of Alcoholics Anonymous® which serve as foundations to the growth and recovery in one's twelve step program.
The development of this 12 step prayer bead is reflective of what I have found to be important in my own journey of recovery. It encompasses more than just a recital of prayers and steps. It contains a place to put your own spiritual symbol based on your own higher power. I have found that meditation readings, praying for your defects of character, praying for others "service", and gratitude to be foundation building, in my recovery. This twelve step rosary can be individualized to your needs by substituting words, prayers, or meditation readings that are specific to your 12 step program and spiritual life.
